Our Pillars of Purpose: Faith, Wellness and Community

These will guide what we do. YCBC podcasts will nurture and support young people and their mental health through a Catholic perspective.

Our podcasts will enable conversations that provide young people with hope, learning, and connection. Our organisation will provide community, belonging, and opportunity for those part of our work.

Faith and God

Pope Francis called young people the “here and now” of the Church, emphasising their present significance, not just future potential.

Young people possess unique insights, talents, and energy that enrich the entire Church community.

Faith builds a personal relationship with God, delivering guidance, and a purpose beyond worldly desires.

Wellbeing and Resilience

Mental health and overall wellbeing is crucial for young people as it underpins healthy development for life.

With a healthy mind and body, you can better handle life’s stresses, build resilience, form good relationships, succeed in education and work, and reduce chances of isolation, unhappiness, substance misuse.

Community and Connection

Community and social connection are vital for providing belonging, purpose, and support, while reducing risks of loneliness and delinquency, through positive relationships with peers and the wider community.

Strong connections foster communication, empathy, improve academic outcomes, and buffers against stress.
